Zoobic Safari! [Subic, Zambales]

It's zoo-time at zoobic!

I was never a fan of zoos, but I looked forward to our zoobic visit because I've seen the excitement on TV, when trip na trip featured its hosts being chased by tigers. I just felt that I had to try that, and so I got really excited when the whole grande island gang decided to drop by zoobic before going back to manila :)

contrary to what I thought, zoobic doesn't only have tigers. they have almost all sorts of animals except the big ones like elephants, giraffes, etc. and they're classified in such a very cool way --rodents are in the rodent world, where there's a rodent salon where you could give big rodents a bath. snakes and iguanas are in a warehouse-like structure called serpentarium. tigers are (of course) in a safari, where zoobic jeepneys enter for the "close encounter". I can't remember the other zoo areas but I do remember the monkeys, turtles, ostriches, and porcupines. and the cute goats and BABY TIGERS roaming around freely!

hello baby!

cutie goat just walkin around :)

some weird-looking rodent. hehe

a camouflage-y turtle

Iguana :)

snake in a pot!

biiiiig creeeepy snake!

The most awaited part, the "close encounter" was quite quick --We entered the "safari" [of course we're in a jeep full of grills!], parked near the tigers, waited for the tigers to attack the live chickens tied on our jeep's grills, shouted hysterically when the tigers ate them, leaving only the chicken legs. then that's it! The most exciting part’s over! If there's one thing I didn't like in that "close encounter", it's the bloody scene [literally, bloody]. chicken blood almost hit me, and that was really gross!

rawrrr, tigers approaching!

poor chicken! bad tiger! *

everything's just so cool, and so I highly recommend this as a "family gimik". both kids and adults will love this so much! but you'll need P500++ for this, per head. the tour package including the close encounter is around P500. the plus plus goes to the live chicken for the chicken-overloaded tigers. I wonder how many chickens they eat everyday. I think 1 chicken costs around P120, one is enough for one tour group. quite expensive eh? but I can say that it was satisfying enough. I mean, how often can we feed cute but aggressive tigers? rarely! so pwede na. I (at least. ewan ko lang ung iba) ENJOYED IT. So... who said that zoos are only for kids?!
