and so after the not-so-long road trip from manila to alfonso (which is about 15 mins away from tagaytay) I finally had a taste of my sister's stories. P560 per head wasn't bad for my kind of food --bottomless greens and pasta, kamote and chocolate cake, dalandan juice and taragon tea... all FRESH, NATURAL AND HEALTHY! some pix:
salad. i love the dressing!
pasta. i love the salmon and sun dried tomatoes!
chocolate cake and taragon tea :)
kamote and turon. i love the kamote, sooobra!
the place's so fantastic, it was so nature-y as it was filled with ornamental plants, flowers, and benches so perfect for photos! hehee some more pix:

we met Sonya herself... a woman who seemed sophisticated and elegant, dressed in her plain white pants and plain white loose blouse. nonetheless she looked down to earth. she asked how our lunch was, pointed out some more spots we should see, and picked out a flower which she called butter flower. amazing, it indeed smelled like butter!
we checked out the cottages, just out of curiosity. they're beautiful, so filipiniana. some staff told us that an overnight stay is P2500 per head (includes breakfast). whoa. that's too expensive for me, but i guess one day I'll give it a try. hehee.
bed in some cottage. so filipiana :)
mama forcing papa to look at the camera. hehee
the overall experience was great, I'd perhaps go back just to unwind, or to make veggie-haters love greens, or to convince un-healthy eaters that healthy eating isn't bad after all!
...looked like papa enjoyed his day. happy birthday pa! :)
